Three Huawei MateBooks in the offing; Kaby Lake, Windows 10 expected

When Huawei MateBook was launched, it gave Windows-based hybrids a run for its money. It was one beautiful 2-in-1 with aluminium build quality and sleek design. If reports are to be believed, there are three Huawei MateBooks in the pipeline.

One of the leaked images showing the MateBook X

Well known tipster Evan Blass tweeted images of three MateBook models that reportedly is to come with Intel’s Kaby Lake processors. The names are revealed as MateBook D, MateBook E, and MateBook X.

The images show the design of the tablets, revealing a close resemblance to the predecessor. The MateBook E reportedly will be the only one to have a detachable form factor.

On the MateBook X, you will be able to detach the screen and use it as a tablet. WinFuture claims to have discovered a benchmark of what appears to be the MateBook X with codename Pascal. On Geekbench, it shows a 15-inch screen, Kaby Lake Core i5 processor and 8GB of RAM. As for the operating system, all three models will run on Windows 10.

When the Huawei MateBook released, it weighed in at 640 grams and had a full-metal unibody design with rounded edges. The 12-inch screen boasted a resolution of 2160×1440 pixels. There was a 33.7Wh high-density Lithium battery to power the device up to 10 hours. The tablet was available in Core M3, M5 and M7 processor variants.

The new MateBooks will definitely be tad bigger and better than the predecessor. Huawei is yet to confirm on the upcoming models, but given the sources, we can be sure a release is impending. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
