TAG Heuer will be launching a new smartwatch today dubbed Connected Modular 45. Though much of the specifics were revealed last week, the price continued to be a mystery. However, now that as well is disclosed, coming right before the release.
It appears the smartwatch is listed on the TAG Heuer official website confirming the name as Connected Modular 45. No other details are provided, besides a one line description that states “the first luxury Connected Watch attuned to your touch.” The listing is accompanied with an image showing the circular screen and orange straps.
Coming to the price, the Connected Modular 45 is reported to retail at $1,650 in the US. No doubt, it an expensive one considering the other smartwatches in the market and TAG’s first Connected that launched in 2015.
After the timepiece is made official, we will be able to view the complete description along with colors and images showing the smartwatch from different angles.
Several teaser images earlier had given a glimpse of the device’s design. Apparently, the wearable will be modular in many ways, with a 45mm case that allows users to swap in a mechanical timepiece instead of a digital one. The hybrid watch will further feature Android Wear 2.0 and NFC for making contactless payments.
According to Droid Life, there will be a range of colors and materials to choose from. The straps are reported to come in the form of rubber, calfskin, ceramic and titanium bracelets. For the lugs, you have “titanium, titanium with diamonds, titanium with 18K rose gold, and titanium with a matte black ceramic finish”.
The luxury smartwatch comes with an added advantage of being water-resistant for up to 50 meters. We will keep you posted as and when more details emerge.
