Samsung Galaxy Note FE a hit in Korean market, may see arrival in global markets as well

The Galaxy Note FE has officially been launched in Samsung’s home market, South Korea, and judging by the initial sales reactions, the new Note FE is selling like hot cakes, indicating that Samsung’s bet has finally paid off on re-working the original Note 7 and reviving it into a more affordable Note variant.

The handset is flying off the shelves in South Korean stores, with over 400,000 Galaxy Note FE units having been shipped to the country. Based on ground-reports by salesmen, new buyers supposedly flocked to the stores and wanted to by the Note FE, showing that there is still quite a lot of positive response and support behind the Note FE. The smartphone has increased daily device activation by 60 percent since it launched in the last week.

Of the various colour variants of the phablet, the most popular colours that are currently selling are the Black Onyx and the Blue Coral, of which most have already been sold out in stores in the country. What is also boosting the phone’s sales is that it is currently 20 percent cheaper than the original Note 7’s price, but at the same time it is still more expensive than most of the other flagship smartphones released last year.

An insider in the company has expressed that Samsung does not plan on releasing more than those 400,000 units in South Korea, making an international release of the Note FE on the cards as well. While there was no official announcement about the phone’s release in other markets, a few other countries may be fortunate enough to find the Note FE on their shores. The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 has received its fair share of hype over the weeks leading up to its release, which could have fueled the sales of the phone as well. With the only change in the phone being the new, slightly lower battery capacity, the phone is still a powerful performer.

Another reason why users will want to buy the phone is because Samsung have even gone ahead and updated the Note 7’s version of Android to Android Nougat in the Note FE, which will also showcase the Samsung’s own AI software – Bixby. The Note FE is currently seeing a lot of demand and it does not seem like it will die out soon, considering that even other countries are hoping get a taste of the Note 7’s second coming. Hopefully, the phone should be available globally in the next couple of weeks.
