While there was much uncertainty over the chipset to be seen on Meizu’s upcoming Pro 7, Taiwan-based MediaTek has officially confirmed that the handset will be powered by the firm’s Helio X30 deca-core SoC.
The Helio X30 was announced last year, with the commercial availability confirmed during the Mobile World Congress in February.

The X30 uses new A73 Cores for performance. It also includes four Cortex-A53 cores, clocked at 2.2 GHz, and four economy Cortex-A35 cores that will run at 2.0 GHz. The chipset is built on the 10nm manufacturing process making it the first of its kind.
While that should give the Meizu Pro 7 an edge over its competitors when it releases, there are other features that is built to impress. According to latest reports, the Pro 7 will feature a 5.2-inch display and will have a secondary display at the rear. In terms of pictures, it will be equipped with 12MP Sony IMX386 and IMX286 camera sensors at the rear and a 16MP front facing shooter.
The Meizu Pro 7 is rumored to come with a bigger variant called the Pro 7 Plus. Several renders of the phone have already leaked giving a glimpse of the design and finish. The renders reveal a Titanium alloy body, dual camera setup, USB Type-C capability and a home button on the front .
There are speculations over 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM variants, alongside 64GB and 128GB storage. The base price should start at $500.
