The phone will most definitely come with a bezel-less display, as big as 6.2-inches and with a resolution of 2960×1440. Powering the phone will be the Snapdragon 836 processor that was originally rumored to be featured in the upcoming Google Pixel 2 smartphones. While there has not been any official word from Qualcomm regarding the launch of the processor, the 836 is expected to be a slightly more powerful version of the 835. The Mix 2 is also expected to come with a 4,400mAh battery, which will probably be the largest battery to feature on a flagship. As far as storage is concerned, it will feature 256GB of internal storage and the handset will most likely be the company’s first to feature Android Oreo out of the box.

GSM Arena was able to receive a live image of the handset and in the image, the phone shows that it features a true tri bezel-less display which completely omits the top, left and right bezels of the smartphone with just a small chin appearing below the display. The company’s CEO has confirmed that the phone has already reached mass production and a few images of the retail packaging have already been shared. The phone’s display will be an AMOLED display and will also feature 6GB of RAM. When September 11 comes, we will know exactly how Xiaomi have made the most of the space on the smartphone.

Even Gizbot has come across another leak of the phone, but with only the front panel of the phone, that shows the screen’s opening along with the bezel-less sides. The image was posted on the Chinese social networking website Weibo. At the bottom is just a slight bezel that is rumored to house the camera and the virtual home button. According to the report, the smartphone’s display will also have a dual-curved screen with a ratio of 18:9, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8. Hopefully, Xiaomi also allows for a water-proof build and a headphone jack. The phone looks to be aimed at the premium segment, as the retail packaging suggests, and considering the specifications of the device, it seems that the phone will not come cheap. More details about the phone will be revealed during its official launch on September 11.
