Latest on Samsung Galaxy S8 claims April release

Speculations on Samsung’s Galaxy S8 continue to arise, leaving die-hard fans more eager to know its release. A site dedicated to providing Samsung smartphone related news has put the launch to April, next year.

According to SamMobile, Samsung will release the Galaxy S8 at an exclusive event in New York in April. This does mean that fans won’t catch it early at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February. And if April is the unveiling, you can expect it to hit stores after May.

The decision to push back the release date is attributed to the need to “work with external agencies to execute plans to recover confidence from consumers” before launch. The latest update comes through participants at the global strategy meeting the firm is holding at it’s headquarters in South Korea.

While that is for the release date, here is what rumors claim on the features to expect in the incoming flagship.

Galaxy S8 is said to have a Snapdragon 835 processor with a 6GB of RAM and a 3,000mAh battery to back the specs and features. Reports also mention an optical fingerprint scanner that will be hidden below the 4K AMOLED display glass.

Two models of the Galaxy S8 will be offered: one with a 5.7-inch display and another with a 6.2-inch display. Some reports further claim that Samsung will remove the headphone jack in the Galaxy S8.

If latest rumors doing rounds online are anything to go by, Galaxy S8 is likely to become the first smartphone to come out with Bluetooth 5.0. The Bluetooth 5.0 is expected to be four times faster than its predecessor.
