The coming of the Canon EOS 6D Mark II was bouncing around the rumor mills for quite some time. As was expected, the DSLR camera went public today, with complete features and the design made official.
A successor to the EOS 6D, the EOS 6D Mark II has a new new full frame sensor, DIGIC 7 processor, 45 point AF system and Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology.
Giving a much needed boost to the shooting possibilities is the 26.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor and the improved ISO 40,000 that is expandable to ISO 102,400. The latest DIGIC 7 processor at the core allows users to shoot high quality images straight from the camera.
For better control over the creative vision, Canon says the EOS 6D Mark II has a 45 point AF system, which can be customized and even allows for more precise tracking. It retains the ability to accurately lock onto subjects even in the lowest lighting conditions.
Canon says its widely-accepted Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology allows for high performance tracking as well as smoother focusing, and shorter focusing times, for movies.
EOS 6D Mark II is the first full frame EOS camera to include built-in 5-axis movie stabilisation and also the first camera from Canon to have both 4K time-lapse movie mode and intervalometer for diverse movie making.
For transmitting images to smart devices, the EOS camera boasts of Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth. Users can control their camera from their smartphone to shoot images or video remotely
The EOS 6D Mark II will be available for purchase in the US next month for $1,999.
