Asus ZenFone 4 news: Official teasers released, release expected next month

As is the norm every year, this year too for Asus is no different as it sets out to replace the current generation of the ZenFone 3 with the newer ZenFone 4 range of smartphones. The company has released a few teasers that should get buyers excited for the upcoming phones and their specifications.

The teasers were first unveiled on the company’s Facebook page that showed multiple colorful images of different landmarks of cities around the world that were overlaid with two circles, which could be an indication that the ZenFone 4 will be coming with dual-lens cameras. The images simply stated “It’s time to meet the new ZenFone 4. Stay tuned.” Certain rumors have claimed already, that the new generation of ZenFones will be released on August 17 at an exclusive event in Taiwan.

There is an important take-away from the series of images that were released by the company, which includes an image in the UK. This could mean that the company is making a return to the UK, with its ZenFone AR phone that was earlier listed for pre-order in the nation. The images could also mean that there could be a simultaneous launch that can be expected to happen in the countries that are shown in the images.

So far, Asus’s ZenFone has received a fair bit of popularity in the Asian and US markets. Confusingly enough, Asus has introduced a ZenFone 4 Max in Russia which comes with a Snapdragon 430/425, 3GB of RAM and two 13MP cameras on the rear. It also reportedly has a 5,000mAh battery as well. It could be speculated that one of the new ZenFone models to be announced in August will include a version of this as well.

Meanwhile, there have been multiple ZenFone models certified by the Taiwan equivalent of the FCC which is NCC. Of the devices listed are the standard ZenFone 4, the ZenFone 4 Selfie, the ZenFone 4 Pro and the ZenFone 4 Max. Whether the Max variant will share the same features as its Russian sibling is yet to be seen, but the launch date for next month seems like an imminent possibility that Asus is planning for an international release of those phones. The report also points out that there is another ZenFone variant not listed, known as the ZenFone 4V which is slated to arrive in Europe in the month of September.
