What is Apple Clips? Top 6 features you shouldn’t miss

Apple made a couple of surprise announcements on Tuesday along with an iPad and a new Red iPhone 7. If the gadgets are what caught your attention, then Apple has also managed to turn some heads with its latest lightweight video editing tool, Clips.

Clips is the younger cousin of iMovie and is targeted at those who indulge in creating short video clips. While Clips is not a heavy video editing tool, it’s perfect for vines and memes.

Here are 6 features of Apple Clips we know you shouldn’t miss!

Adding clips and photos
Simply record the moments you want to share with your friends and family using Clips or pick a picture or a video taken on your last vacation, you’ve saved in your library.

Smart and easy sharing
So, you’ve made a fun video of your friend and can’t wait to share it with them. Clips gets your excitement and makes it easier for you to share it with them by automatically detecting the person in the clip and making suggestions to share it with them. Tap the name of your friend and send them the clip through Messages.

Make each clip more fun
Add more filters to swagger up your click or sneak in an emoji to convey your mood. Clips lets you add more effects like arrows, speech bubbles and much more. And while you’re at it, you can also add music to bring in the groove.

Live Titles
Let’em see what you’re saying through Live Titles. Add animated captions to your clip while you’re recording a clip. Live Titles come in many styles and all are prompted to your voice at just the right time.

Social Media sharing
Share those hilarious clips to Instagram, Facebook or other social media platforms directly from Clips.

iOS 10.3 and later
Clips is available only for Apple devices run on iOS 10.3 or later. So, if it’s anything older than the iPhone 5s or the 5th generation iPad, Clips can’t be used.

This is what Susan Prescott, VP,  Apple’s Apps Product Marketing has to say, “The effects, filters and amazing new Live Titles we’ve designed for Clips let anyone make great-looking, easily shareable videos with just a few taps.”

On another news, Apple had something for Apple Watch users too. A range of new straps was announced, so you wouldn’t have to wear that sport band to work anymore. Woven Nylon and leather straps along with new sport bands were launched and is made available online for Apple Watch users to buy.
