Samsung power bank (EB-PG950) for Galaxy S8 to come in grey and blue

Next week Samsung is expected to take wraps off the hotly anticipated Galaxy S8 and S8+. If reports are to be believed, the launch will also include a power bank that is chiefly built for the device.

The power bank for Galaxy S8 leaked online

The power bank is confirmed to be of 5,100 mAh capacity and is also to come in two color choices – grey and blue. Thanks to a leak by Roland Quandt from WinFuture.de, we have images of the accessory clearly showing the curved corners, USB ports and the outer panel.

The Samsung EB-PG950 Power Bank will offer a 15W charge speed limit and USB Type-C compatibility. It can also be used with other smartphones besides the S8 and S8+. Reports speculate the accessory will retail at €70 ($87).

Samsung will officially announce the Galaxy S8 on March 29. While Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.8-inch sized display, the S8+ is going to feature a 6.2-inch sized display.

The release should further see a range of other accessories unveiled, such as new earphones from AKG, 2,600mAh Backpack to charge phone on the go and a multimedia dock called the DeX Station.

Details of the DeX Station as well surfaced online this week, suggesting 2 USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet port (100Mbps), an HDMI output, USB Type-C port and an embedded cooling fan. According to leakster Evan Blass, the dock will carry a price tag of 149 Euros ($160).

Due to be unveiled at Samsung’s ‘Unpacked’ event on March 29 in New York, much of the specs and hardware have already been leaked online. Adding to it, earlier this week Samsung officially unveiled the Bixby, a personal assistant that will compete with the likes of Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, Microsoft’s Cortana and the Google Assistant. Samsung also said that it plans to bring Bixby to a wide range of different devices, besides its flagship phones.
