ZTE’s Max XL for Sprint is a 6-inch Nougat phone for just $130

ZTE is providing its expertise of manufacturing cheap phones with decent specs for CDMA networks. It’s big, it’s affordable, and it should be perfect for those who are looking for an inexpensive carrier device from the likes of Sprint and its networking carriers as well.

ZTE Max XL

The ZTE Max XL is just a CDMA version of the Max PRO but unlike its sibling, the XL has upgraded software, coming with Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box. The Pro is still behind with Marshmallow for now. Inside the XL, one will find a modest set up of a chipset – the Snapdragon 435 chipset that is known for its low power consumption. Contributing to that is the huge battery at 3,990 mAh that should be more than enough for the phone to last a day and a half at least.

The phone will do just fine with 2GB of RAM, but the main feature of the phone is the massive 6-inch display at 1080p resolution. A dying breed nowadays, FM radio is available on the phone, luckily. Aside from that, there is also a headphone jack and expandable storage which should be helpful considering the phone comes only in 16GB of internal storage. The phone also comes with a handy fingerprint sensor for security.

On the optics front, the rear camera is a 13MP unit. The front consists of a 5MP sensor. We’re not expecting any cutting-edge picture quality, but it should deliver the basics at least. Sprint is debuting its new HPUE network that is meant to extend the reach of its LTE connection thanks to its affiliation with Boost and Virgin.

Now for the most exciting part of the phone, the price. At $130, it is definitely not a bad prospect to consider. Considering that more and more people are getting involved into the zone of watching streamed videos online through Netflix or Amazon Video, this phone could be a great value for the millennial who wants to take advantage of their carrier support and enjoy their entertainment on the go. The phone also comes with the new standard of USB Type-C so it will continue trending for quite some time.

Not all phones have to be flagships, and not all heroes wear caps.
