A month after the Sony Xperia XZ1 was spotted on Geekbench, the device has surfaced on the GFXBench database reaffirming the specs that were made public through leaks.
The Sony Xperia XZ1 was listed on GFXBench with model numbers G8341, G8342, and SO-O1. While the G8341 will be the standard version, the G8342 will be a dual-SIM variant and the last is rumored to be one exclusive for Japan.
In terms of specs, the listing confirms a 5.1-inch display with 1080×1920 Full HD resolution. Additionally, the processor is shown as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with Adreno 540 GPU.
The processor will be paired with a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. In the optics department, users can expect a 19MP camera with support for 4K videos. There will also be a 13MP sensor on the front for selfies.
According to reports, the Sony Xperia XZ1 is to be unveiled alongside the Xperia XZ1 Compact at Sony’s pre-IFA 2017 press meet on August 31. The Xperia XZ1 will be a successor to the Sony Xperia XZs which hit store shelves in April this year.
The Xperia XZs had a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS LCD Capacitive touchscreen with 1080x1920p resolution. It was powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor, paired with 4GB RAM. There were two storage variants – 32GB and 64GB, both expandable via micoSD card.
The highlight of the phone was its Motion Eye camera that came with a memory stacked Exmor RS sensor which provided 5x faster image scanning.
By the end of this month, we should be able to ascertain what Sony has in store for the Xperia XZ1. If reports are to be believed, Sony will be releasing three models at the IFA 2017, the other two being Xperia X1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact.
The Xperia X1 is rumored to be a mid-range device with 5-inch Full HD display and Snapdragon 660 chipset paired with 4 GB of RAM. As for the XZ1 Compact, it will be a slimmer version of the XZ1, with a a small 4.6-inch HD display.
