Samsung is going to use CES 2017 to make some pretty big announcements. Recently, it was revealed by Gadgets Now, that the company will be unveiling two new Windows tablets. And it’s likely that both will fall in line with the Galaxy Tab Pro series with one being the successor to the Pro S and the other being a less-spec’d, lower end device for the masses.
The Korean tech giant will also be releasing a few SmartTVs services as well – Sports, Music and TV Plus at the event. It’ll feature rolling out of personalized content for customers based on their TV preferences through Samsung’s Smart Hub platform. The Sports service will feature curated content with partnered platforms such as NBC Sprots, UFC and more.
The Music service will allow users to identify songs on live TV from programs and other content. There’s also the added feature of allowing users to stream previews of tracks so they can discover some new music as well. Samsung is partnering with a number of music streaming services like Spotify, iHeartRadio, Napster, Deezer, Sirius XM, Vevo, Melon and Bugs. However, the release is limited only to places like France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
TV Plus is more of a Netflix-type offering, but more for cable channels. What it’ll do is allow users to subscribe to channels that are part of the TV Plus program and they’ll get to watch marathon sessions of all the current TV shows out there without waiting for the cable operators. It’s pretty neat, especially for those who have a strong connection (pun intended) to their cable set-ups.
Samsung, as usual, is bringing the heat to CES 2017 and we can’t wait to see what they have to offer.
