The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 is giving out some more information before its inevitable launch, and this time, the public has become aware of the battery capacities that the device will be packing.

According to reports, there will be two battery packs for two variants of the S8 – the S8 standard and the S8 Plus. Earlier, the capacities were tipped to be at 3000 mAh and 3500 mAh respectively, but a new source has confirmed that the capacities will be a little bigger, topping it up by 3250 mAh for the S8 and 3750 mAh for the S8 Plus.
Samsung is doubling its efforts in order to procure a stable and safe battery resource and ensure that the battery management of their upcoming devices do not falter. Thanks to its 8-point testing program, which has redeemed the company in the eyes of users everywhere for testing the batteries of its phones, the same will be done for the S8 and S8 Plus. According to BGR, the upcoming flagships will be the first to benefit from the program. And while increasing the capacity does seem like a promising step, it also means they will be making the necessary precautions in order to avoid any accidents in the future.
These sources do collide with Evan Blass’s comments, since the famous leaker did state that the upcoming phones will have the same battery capacities as its predecessors. But other reports from publishers such as ITcle also indicate towards bigger battery capacities. At least the one thing that has been confirmed by these statements is that there will be two variants in the Galaxy flagship line-up.
The new phones are expected to receive a new all-screen design, featuring more screen real estate with very thin bezels on either side. It is also touted to come with battery efficient chipsets and a more efficient version of the AMOLED screen. It is only about time now that all the details of the upcoming flagship be revealed to the public before the actual release of the device in March.
The only question that will remain is, will this phone be bang for the buck? Or will it blow in Samsung’s face?
