Less than a week after Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 was spotted on GFXBench, the tablet now appears to have cleared the FCC certification.
The FCC approval shows two models, one being the WiFi only (SM-T825) and the latter being the LTE version (SM-T820). With the FCC listing complete, the flagship is closer to launch, hopefully should see the light of day during the much-awaited Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
Though the Tab S3 was rumored to launch around the CES, it was delayed in the wake of the Note 7 fiasco. While mobile enthusiasts expected Samsung to launch the Galaxy S8 during the MWC, we now know it will release at a separate event in either March or April.
So it is likely that the Tab S3 will debut at the MWC 2017. It could be the one to get more prominence, given Samsung’s recent performance woes. Last week, the Tab S3 was spotted on benchmarking site GFXBench, giving some clarity on the hardware.
The specs sheet revealed a 9.6-inch display with a 2,048 x 1,536 pixel screen resolution. It is also expected to launch with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chip and 4GB RAM. For pictures, you have a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper.
The Tab S2 successor will run on Android 7.0 Nougat. Details on pricing or availability is yet to be announced. We will have to wait a little longer to see if this next iteration can take Samsung back to its glory days.
