Rumor: Nokia 8 with Snapdragon 835, dual-lens Carl-Zeiss cameras to release on July 31

After much speculation and anticipation behind Nokia’s latest upcoming flagships, there is now new evidence suggesting what the smartphone manufacturer’s first new flagship will probably look like, save for official confirmation.

A new image has leaked of the new Nokia 8 smartphone from popular tech website, VentureBeat. While the device has matched the description of many other previous rumors and speculations being shown on the Internet, as expected, it also matches the same conservative design of its smaller siblings albeit for its internals. The phone will carry flagship-grade specs that will go head to head with the cream of the crop in the Android-verse.

The Nokia 8 will get dual cameras, as well as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset, making it one of the most powerful phones of the year already. Other specifications of the phone include a 5.3-inch screen with QHD resolution and the dual cameras on the back will be Carl-Zeiss lenses with 13MP optics. The phone will run on Android Nougat 7.1.1 and will come in either 4GB or 6GB variants. The phone is also going to cost anywhere between $675 and $865. The Nokia 6 was already a little more expensive for being a mid-range option. The phone was first hinted at by Nokia in a promotional video back in May despite not having revealed any specifications of the smartphone yet.

The leaks had surfaced through popular leakster Evan Blasse who also had pointed out that the phone will feature a headphone jack as well as USB Type-C connectivity. After HMD Global re-ignited Nokia’s partnership with Carl-Zeiss, the smartphone maker will be seeing a lot of renewed interest in its products. Meanwhile, the Nokia’s 8 launch, while imminent, has not yet been announced, but it is certain that the releases is just around the corner and could come by July 31, although the official confirmation for this release date has not been made yet.

Another fact that the image showed of the phone was that this time around, the leaked image showed the phone in a silver color variant, while earlier renders and leaks showed the phone in blue. Whether there will be more color options or whether there will also be a black variant of the phone has not yet been confirmed as of yet. Nevertheless, the phone will be sure to make waves across the industry when it releases.
