Soon Oppo smartphones will be sold in the U.S. According to reports, the Chinese smartphone maker is set to enter the American market with its latest series.
Though there is no specific date, Oppo could begin selling its devices before the end of the year. Oppo is not testing the waters here for the first time. It already has tasted success with Blu-ray players.
Now, the company is exploring other segments such as smartphones. And why not, when other major players are expanding their user base beyond Asian market. Just recently, another Chinese name LeEco entered the lucrative U.S. market with a range of smartphones and TVs.
The Beijing-based company sells smartphones, connected TVs, dash cameras, electric bicycles, VR headsets, and more. LeEco live streamed its U.S. launch on October 19.
Now it is the turn of Oppo. The Guangdong-based company, founded in 2004, has been successful in Asian markets. Globally, it is the fourth largest smartphone vendor after Samsung, Apple, and Huawei. The last quarter it sold close to 25 million smartphones.
