The OnePlus 5 is a major improvement over the 3 and 3T and has been a top of the range smartphone. Making it even more attractive, OnePlus has added a new color variant – the Soft Gold.
Last week, the Chinese smartphone maker had teased the color option on popular social platform Weibo. Gold was one of four colors teased in the run up to the OnePlus 5’s launch. Other colors include dark grey, and red.
The new Soft Gold variant will be a limited addition. It has already gone official in India where it will start selling from August 9 for Rs 32,999 ($517), through Amazon India.
Unlike the previous Rose Gold phones launched by the company, OnePlus says on the OnePlus 5 it has further developed the sandblasting process. The finish of the Soft Gold OnePlus 5 is 30 per cent finer than that of previous OnePlus Soft Gold devices, the company said.
OnePlus 5 is a great choice for those on a shoestring budget. A strong competitor to the Galaxy S8 and other flagship phones, the device boasts of a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920×1080 and Snapdragon 835 processor.
The hardware includes a 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. There is a dual rear camera with one being of 16MP Sony IMX 398 sensor with wide-angle lens, aperture of f/1.7 and Electrical Image Stabilisation (EIS). The secondary telephoto lens is a 20MP Sony IMX 350 sensor with an aperture of f/2.6. For selfies, users will find a 16MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
