Olympus today announced a new mirrorless compact system camera called Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II. It will hit store shelves by the end of this year.
The OLYMPUS OM-D E-M1 Mark II offers high-speed sequential shooting
The flagship model, part of the OM-D series, is a 20.4-megapixel Micro Four Thirds shooter and boasts of a dustproof and splashproof design.
It offers a maximum 18 fps high-speed sequential shooting in AF/AE tracking. Besides the Live MOS sensor, the gadget is equipped with TruePic VIII image processing, electronic viewfinder and 3-inch Vari-angle LCD touchpanel.
It has a 121-point All Cross-type autofocus, two SD card slots for extra capacity, and is capable of shooting 4K video at up to 30p. Full HD video can be shot at up to 60 frames per second.
The newly developed high-speed TruePic VIII image processor has a double quad core system with 4 CPU cores and 4 image processing cores which achieves high-speed image processing that is approximately 3.5 times faster than the TruePic VII.
The mirrorless camera boasts advanced imaging tools like Silent Shutter Mode, Live Composite Mode, and Live Bulb Mode. Silent Shutter Mode completely eliminates shutter noise and sounds when shooting in quieter environments.
The OM-D E-M1 Mark II is an upgrade to the original OM-D E-M1. It is compatible with all Olympus Micro Four Thirds lenses and accessories. It’ll be available from December this year starting at $2,000 for the body only.
