A month ago, Samsung introduced its new Gear 360 camera. Now, it has made official the companion app that they promised when the product was announced.
The Samsung Gear 360 (New) app on Google Play store can be used to capture video or photos and transfer them to your smartphone. It is exclusively for 360 content creation, viewing and sharing.
Many of the features provided by the app are only available when Samsung Gear 360 is connected to a mobile device.
Devices currently supported include Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy Note5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017).
Users can remotely shoot and preview the recording, save files to a smartphone and share the created content to social media platforms. You can further share moments using Live Boadcast and manage status and settings of your camera through the app.
The latest Gear 360 camera was launched around the end of March, for users to shoot and record video and photos in 360 degrees. The camera can capture video in true 4K, at a resolution of 4096 x 2160, and is capable of live-streaming 2K video.
