LG is rumored to be working on a series of smartwatches to be announced in 2017. The good news is one among the lot has passed the US FCC certification.

According to a GSM Arena report, the FCC has issued a certification for at least one of the 2017 smartwatch models. The leaked certification however does not provide any details on the specs and features to expect.
We do know that LG is prepping four new smartwatch models, thanks to credible sources and reports. In November last year LG filed trademark applications with the EU for “Watch Style”, “Watch Pro”, “Watch Force”, and “Watch Sole”.
The year 2016 was not a great one for LG on the smartwatch front. LG hasn’t released a smartwatch since the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE. A hardware issue led LG to halt sales of the Watch Urbane,which was announced in November 2015.
As for the upcoming models, LG had detailed in its application that they are “watches that communicate data to PDAs; smart phones for wrist”. It could be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset that offers 25% better power efficiency than the Snapdragon 400.
You can be assured of this as well that the LG smartwatches will run Android Wear 2.0. Just last week Google confirmed that it is to bring the wearable platform in early February.
Android Wear 2.0 update will introduce the watch-face Complications which functions like widget for notifications in the watch. It further brings a new app called on-watch Play Store and various standalone apps so used do not need to connect to their smartphones all the time.
