Moto Z to launch in India on Oct. 4: Specs and features to expect

Motorola is expected to launch the Moto Z on October 4 in India. The semi-modular series from Motorola is an innovative line-up providing users the ability to change the device’s capabilities by inserting accessories.

Moto Z is incredibly thinner and is made of a combination of military aircraft-grade aluminium and stainless steel. It supports swap on modules also known as MotoMod.

Under the hood, the device comes powered with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage that is expandable up to 2TB via micro SD card.

The device sports a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display and has a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera for selfies. Moto Z runs on Android Marshmallow and is backed by a 2,600mAh battery.

One of the modules that can be attached and switched out is the Hasselblad True Zoom mod. It has a 10X optical zoom with a 4.5-45 mm lens and Xenon flash. It also has the ability to shoot 1080p videos at 30fps and shoot images in the RAW format.

Other Moto mods that can be placed at the magnetic connector in the back include battery packs, a JBL speaker and a Pico projector

The device offers a range of connectivity options including Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC and 4G.

Moto Z will be available in three variants – Moto Z, Moto Z Force and Moto Z Play. The Moto Z Play sports a 16MP primary camera with dual-LED flash and packs a 3,510mAh battery. The Moto Z Force comes with a 23MP rear camera and is backed by 3,500mAh battery, among other features.
