Microsoft’s Surface is still a widely popular brand, with considerable increase in sales since last year. Microsoft’s earnings report for the first quarter of fiscal year 2017 showed that Surface revenue was up by 38%.
Microsoft’s stock is up 5 percent in after-hours trading and reached an all-time high at $60 per share. Reportedly, revenue grew 8 percent to $6.4 billion in the company’s Intelligent Cloud division, while the commercial cloud revenue was up 59 percent. Overall, Microsoft reported revenue of $22.33 billion.
Towards Surface revenue, the technology giant said it increased to $253 million from the year-ago quarter. The record sales is credited to Microsoft’s latest Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book.
And Surface sales is not going to see a decline. In next few days Microsoft is planning to unveil a line up of Surface branded devices.
Microsoft is holding a special Windows 10 and Surface event in New York City on October 26. Reports claim that the event will see the launch of a Surface Pro 5, Surface Book 2, along with the all-in-one Surface PC. Additionally, there will be two variants for the Surface Pro 5, a low-end version with a 2K display, and a high-end version with 4K resolution.
