Powerful PC components in a laptop, that is the new Razer Blade Pro for you. It is a gaming desktop in a laptop and features a 17.3-inch G-Sync IGZO display. With Intel’s latest quad-core i7 CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU and up to 2 TB of SSD storage, the Razer Blade Pro is a dream come true.
Razer says the device was designed and built for those who give equal preference to portability as much as components within. The desktop replacement weighs 3.54 kg and has a unibody CNC aluminum chassis that measures just 0.88 inches. It comes with a built-in webcam and 99 Wh rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery.
But those are not the highlights of Blade Pro. Besides the high end processor and next generation GPU, the device has Thunderbolt 3 for advanced connectivity options and 32 GB of DDR4 dual-channel memory.
“It’s impressive what Razer was able to pack into the new Razer Blade Pro,” said Mark Aevermann, senior product lead for GeForce gaming laptops at NVIDIA. “They have managed to design a gaming laptop with our flagship GeForce GTX 1080, in a form factor gamers can take with them on the road.”
The IGZO monitor produces the smoothest possible framerates and offers 100 percent Adobe RGB color accuracy. And the device has a new thermal management system with vapor chamber that reduces heat resistance and hotspots by spreading heat evenly.
“The original 17-inch Blade was the first laptop that truly blended power and portability in a PC,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. “We’ve taken that approach another step further with the new Razer Blade Pro. The thermal engineering behind it is staggering.”
Another notable highlight is the Ultra-Low-Profile Mechanical switches. Razer says it is the first notebook to utilize the switches that feature a true actuation and rest point. The keyboard and trackpad are also powered by Razer Chroma.
Razer Blade Pro is a VR-ready device and sells at $3,699.
