Meizu is expected to release the high-end Pro 6s before this month end. But it might not be the only device waiting to be unveiled, rumors are swirling over a cheaper Android smartphone, the M5.
On October 31, Meizu will reportedly release the Pro 6s. Meizu’s VP Li Nan on Monday confirmed to media that the device will be powered by a MediaTek chipset to handle everyday tasks.
Much details on the specs are not available. However, reports state it will have a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, in addition to Meizu’s mCharge 3.0 technology.
Pictures leaked last week also indicate that the smartphone will feature a deca-core MediaTek MT6796 processor inside.
The Pro 6s will be the higher variant of Pro 6 that was launched in April 2016. The Android device featured a 5.2-inch display, with MediaTek Helio X25 processor and 4GB of RAM. The single SIM smartphone was backed by a 2560mAh non removable battery. It sold with a price tag of $450.
With regard to M5, much on the internals are confirmed due to the Geekbench listing. The benchmark site reveals the M5 processor to be a octa-core MediaTek MT6750 along with 2GB RAM.
It will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and will include a 5-inch display and 13MP primary camera on the back. Expect the device to hit store shelves by November 11.
