Meizu A5: A budget phone with 2GB RAM, 8MP camera and 3,060 mAh battery

Meizu is back with a new release falling under the budget A series. The Meizu A5 is a device with average features and with a price that is hard to beat.

For an entry level phone, Meizu A5 is made out of all metal and is just priced at CNY 699 ($103).

As far as the specifics are concerned, the A5 packs a 5-inch screen with 1280 x 720p resolution. It is powered by a MediaTek’s MT6737 processor along with Mali-T720 GPU.

Under the hood, you have a 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. For pictures, you have an 8MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash and 5MP front shooter for selfies.

Meizu A5 support 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS and A-GPS. Power is drawn by a decent 3,060 mAh battery. As for operating system, the Android version is not known as of yet. But it is confirmed to have a Flyme OS 5.1 custom user interface on top.

Meizu Pro 7 rumors

For those who are looking for a more premium device, Meizu is rumored to launch the much-awaited Meizu Pro 7 on July 7, that according to a teaser that surfaced on Weibo.

The flagship phone will feature a secondary e-ink display on the rear of the phone. Going by the rumors, the Pro 7 should see a 5.2-inch AMOLED display, along with MediaTek’s Helio X30 deca-core processor.

There will also be 4GB/6GB RAM options and a native storage of 128GB. More details should emerge soon with just days left for the launch.
