The latest flagship phablet from Lenovo, Lenovo Phab 2, is coming to India next week. The device is the lowest-end smartphone in the series, besides Phab 2 Pro and Phab 2 Plus.
“Phab 2 is here. We can’t wait to see you at the webinar,” reads the invite sent to press. The launch is set to take place on December 6.
Introduced at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin three months ago, the Phab 2 is a 6.4-inch phablet with a Octa-core MediaTek MT8735 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage.
The mid-range device sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter with wide-angle lens. The phone is backed by a 4,050 mAh battery. Details on the pricing is not available yet. Lenovo however has revealed that the Phab 2 will be a Flipkart exclusive.
It appears that Lenovo is giving equal importance to two of the leading e-commerce players in the country. Just recently it launched the Phab 2 Plus, which was made available only on Amazon India. The Phab 2 Plus was launched at Rs 14,999 ($220) and boasted of AR capabilities.
The spec sheet shows a 6.4-inch Full HD display, Octa-core MediaTek MT8783 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Crafted with aluminium alloy and 2.5D curved glass on the front, the Phab 2 Plus sports a dual rear camera set up with two 13MP cameras on the back. There is an 8MP front camera too. The dual-SIM device is backed by a 4,050 mAh battery.
In the Phab lineup, the only device left to be announced for India is the Phab 2 Pro, the first Google Tango-enabled smartphone. The 6.4-inch QHD IPS display phone makes use of AR and VR sensors to map the surroundings and enables users to interact with things in the virtual world.
We don’t know when the Phab 2 Pro will launch in India. Stay tuned to Gadgets Post for more updates and latest news on the device.
