Lenovo had already announced that the company would be releasing its newest smartphones without the proprietary skin atop Android and will instead just feature a vanilla interface. Starting with the K8 and K8 Plus, the company will be looking to introduce a new kind of budget phone that performs and does not hurt the pocket.
Lenovo K8
Starting off with the most affordable of the two, the K8 offers a 5.2-inch 720p display and consists of a MediaTekHelio P20 processor clocked at 2.3GHz. On the back is a 13MP camera with PDAF. The selfie camera is an 8MP sensor and also has its own dedicated flash.Considering the price on the offering, the features are quite impressive.
The main feature of the phone will be its stamina, as it sports a large 4000mAh battery. It will feature Android 7.1.1 out of the boxwith such a bug battery and the convenient optimizations of Android Nougat, there will. With the unskinned version out of the box, the phone will fly in the entry-level segment. There have not been any pricing details announced for the phone as of yet, but it will most likely be dirt-cheap considering what its elder sibling, the K8 Plus will cost.
Lenovo K8 Plus
The K8 Plus offers a bevy of features for its INR 10,999 price tag. They include a dual-camera setup, one 13MP primary lens and the secondary one featuring a 5MP sensor. The latter is used for clicking photos with shallow depth of field which can be adjusted after the photo has been clicked, using the phone’s depth mode.
On the front is an 8MP wide-angle lens with an f/2.0 aperture as well as a dedicated flash. There is also a pro mode with a beautify mode. The phone also comes with its own music key that can also be programmed to activate different applications, as per the user’s will. Lenovo has also included TheatreMax with Dolby Atmos audio. Like its smaller sibling, the K8 Plus will get the same 4,000mAh battery and promises two full days of use on a single charge.
The K8 Plus will also feature 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable memory. Keeping things intact is an aluminium unibody build. The phone carries a 5.5-inch FullHD display and will be powered by the MediaTekHelio P25 chipset that run at 2.5GHz. This will be the phone that most buyers will preferably go for among the two when they go on sale today.
