iPhone 8 dummy leaks online in new video, confirms the rumors of physical attributes

In what has seemed like forever to figure out what the new iPhone 8 will look like, some respite for anticipating buyers and fans alike has come in the form of a new video that supposedly shows the iPhone 8 in all its glory, in 360-degrees.

OnLeaks and Tiger Mobiles had both claimed to have gotten their hands on the iPhone 8 dummy unit. So, they made a four-minute video of the unit that shows the device from every angle possible. The unit is not an operational one, but showcases exactly what the original iPhone 8 might look like when it finally does come out. As far as the handset itself is concerned, a number of earlier speculations regarding the device have been confirmed, such as the lack of a home button on the front, providing us hope that Apple will probably fit in an under-screen fingerprint sensor. The front of the phone looks like it is all screen with only the top portion being a non-display area, housing the earpiece and the front-facing camera.

Based on confirmation from GSM Arena’s sources, the model shown is actually a model that has been manufactured via CNC process, which is based on a 3D CAD that is sourced directly from the factory that is currently in-charge of making the new phone. One of the most notable features found on the new dummy piece is how the earpiece and the front-facing camera all cut into the top of the display, taking out some screen real estate. Whether it will be like the Essential phone to have its display split from the top or whether the display itself is placed a little lower than the glass housing on-top of it, can only be confirmed when the phone is officially seen.

The phone’s placement of the rear dual cameras on the device as well, saying that the vertical dual-lens rear camera which lines up to the alleged front and rear panels of the phone that have been leaked in the past, which could mean that that the final version will have the same feature as well. Other rumors such as the phone’s wireless charging and 3D sensing along with facial recognition capabilities on the front-facing camera could unfortunately not be determined to be true based on the video since the subject shown was only a dummy piece. Having said that, most of the physical attributes that have been speculated of the phone seem to have come true, putting most, if not all the rumors surrounding the iPhone 8, to rest.
