Huawei P10 lite launched: Here are the top 6 features

After weeks of rumours and nail biting, Huawei has finally launched the latest handset from the P10 series, the Huawei P10 lite. The mid-range handset is expected to reach the fans in two weeks time with its planned launch on March 31, although we did wish it was sooner.

The P10 lite made news when retailers in the EU took their customers by surprise by letting them in on specs of the latest mid-range smartphone from Huawei and revealing that the handset was indeed coming. The official announcement proves that the leaked specs were indeed true, and if you haven’t had the chance to get a hold of it, here are 6 features you should know about the Huawei P10 lite.

Display: The P10 lite flaunts a Full HD 5.2-inch screen with a 1080p resolution and a 1920×1080 IPS panel. The display takes smart gestures a bit further with Huawei’s cleverly named Knuckle Sense Technology which can distinguish between a tap by your knuckle, and the finger. Possibly meaning, you can expect a lot of shortcuts that can be convenient (if you do remember any of those).

Fingerprint scanner: Like its older brothers, the P10 lite also sports a fingerprint scanner on its back panel.

Camera: We feel, one of the main areas of focus for the P10 lite was the camera section and they seem to have zoomed in on the details this time. The primary camera is 12 megapixels with lens having a f/2.2 aperture while the 8 megapixels secondary camera packs some features like the Portrait Selfie mode, digital zoom, geo-tagging, etc. Also, the camera is more than capable of shooting 1080p HD videos.

Processor: The P10 lite is powered by a Kirin 658 chip, an octa-core A53 processor, and Mali-T830MP2 GPU. The device has 4GB internal memory and has the ability to expand the storage upto 32GB.

Battery & UI: The 3,000 mAh non-removable battery supports fast-charging and the smartphone runs on EMUI 5.1 with Android Nougat 7.0 and boasts of better performance with Knuckle Sense, Quik Integration, etc.

Colors: The P10 lite is expected to roll out in two colors, Platinum Gold and Midnight Black, with both the options coming in a ceramic sleek finish.

As of this very moment, the P10 lite can be pre-ordered in the UK for £549 ($680)- a range very much expected from Huawei and one the P10 lite would fit into perfectly, while the P10 Plus will hit the shelves by the first week of April with a price tag of £649 ($804).
