Huawei Mate 10 Lite leak shows quad-camera set-up, Kirin 659 and 5.9-inch display

Huawei’s Mate 10 has been doing the rounds on the internet regarding its specifications and many of those rumors point towards very different facts about what the Mate 10 would eventually be. Today’s latest news brings forth some clarity, as the Mate 10 is will not just be one release this time around, but will consist of four different handsets under the Mate 10 name.

This news comes from Evan Blasse, known for divulging in leaks. Based on his latest tweet, the leakster has confirmed that the cheapest of the Mate 10 variants will be the Mate 10 Lite, which will be codenamed “rhone”. The device, despite being one of the cheaper devices, will come with an 18:9 aspect ratio “FullView” display as well as a surprising quad-camera setup.

Huawei does not take the “Lite” suffix seriously, as it fits the phone with a massive 5.9-inch screen with a 2160×1080 with an 83% screen to body ratio. This phone’s screen is touted to have a higher resolution than the regular Mate 10 as well which will also have a 16:9 aspect ratio. Build wise, the Lite will come with a metal unibody design. It will also come in the colors black, gold and a shade of blue.

The leak also indicates that the phone will be unveiled on September 22 in China. The phone will feature the company-made Kirin 659 chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Keeping things on inside the device will be a 3,340mAh battery. At the rear, the camera setup will consist of a 16MP + 2MP module, while the selfie camera will also have a dual-camera setup consisting of a 13MP + 2MP snapper.

Interestingly. The phone will be made available sometime in November to countries like Europe and will be running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Huawei will be exceeding expectations with this handset by keeping the phone up to date on both the software and hardware fronts.

Having more cameras means having to tune their settings carefully, but offering better effects, like the iPhone X offers in terms of lighting and adjusting depth of field, even for selfies. As far as pricing is concerned, the phone will come at a cost of $455 and is said to be the cheapest of the Mate line-up. If so much is packed into just the entry level Mate 10, the ones to follow in the line-up will most likely be powerhouses.
