HTC U11 Plus most likely to be launched in Taipei event on November 2

HTC have been doing well this year, in terms of releasing a fully-featured smartphone in the form of the U11. The phone came with a stellar set of features, including the Edge Sense which was then carried forward onto the current generation of Pixel devices. HTC have just recently dropped hints at an upcoming phone that could be another variant of the U11 via a teaser from the company’s official Twitter account.

According to a report from Droid Life, the company’s latest tweet shows an invitation to its fans to “save the date” on November 2. The company also attached the hashtag #BrilliantU to the tweet, hinting that the new phone will be a new variant of the U series. This comes just fresh after the leak of 3D renderings of a phone from the company that may or may not be the next iteration of the HTC U11. The graphics of the post show something high-tech and sharp, meaning that the company will be announcing a flagship grade phone in the coming days.

There has also been another leak that shows the evidence of a new addition to the U line-up in the form of a GeekBench listing. We get an idea of what the upcoming phone will consist of, such as Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, a display with a resolution of 2880×1440 on a 6-inch display. The phone will also likely be featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. The resolution hints that the phone will feature an 18:9 aspect ratio. The listing also shows that the phone will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. In terms of optics, the phone will feature a 12MP sensor on the rear and an 8MP sensor as a selfie camera.

It is likely that that the phone will share the same footprint as the LG V30. Most likely, the phone will also have just as thin bezels. The rumoured event that will launch the new phone is said to take place in the company’s headquarters in Taipei.

The phone is the highly anticipated U11 Plus, considering that the recent 3D ratings as well as the timely event notification from the company all fall into place. The company has not officially announced the phone as of yet, but it does strongly indicate that we will be seeing the U11 Plus.
