Is HTC about to release the Desire 650 Dual Sim?

HTC’s last teaser ‘Spring is Coming’ made quite a noise over the Internet with various speculations among which is the launch of HTC 11. But a new rumor is now claiming that the upcoming release will be for HTC Desire 650 Dual Sim.

Maximus ROM Developer, who goes by the Twitter handle @LlabToFer, revealed earlier today that HTC is cooking up an upgrade for its HTC Desire 650. The said new phone is a MediaTek (MTK) based Desire ODM device, meaning, it will not be developed in-house. ODM customizations are from Sense 8.0 UI to Sense 8.3 and a Dual Sim modification. It could also sport a bigger screen display at 5.5 inches.

HTC Desire 650 Specs And Features

To give a quick refresher, the mid-ranger HTC Desire 650 was launched back in November, not too long ago, as the successor to the Desire 630. It runs on Android Marshmallow with Qualcomm’s old chip Snapdragon 400 and a 16 GB storage and 2 GB RAM. It comes with 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front-facing camera, and a 5 inches LCD display with a 720 x 1280 resolution (HD).

Perhaps, the best notable feature of Desire 650 is the BoomSound audio and high resolution audio certification. Other than that, the rest is less impressive.

HTC Desire 650 + Desire 650 Dual Sim For Crickets

HTC first launched the Desire 650 in Taiwan, and is now available in some parts of the UK. Moreover, it appears that Desire 650 will be globally rolled out as leak from Twitter user @evleaks shows the device with the branding of  pre-paid operator Cricket Wireless. But with the recent surfacing of Desire 650 Dual Sim, it is more likely that the device will also be launched alongside with the former model.

While some specs and features are still under wraps about the Desire 650 Dual Sim, for now we can hope that further details will flood the Internet as it closes to its unveiling date. We’ll keep an eye on that and update if it should launch with the Desire 650 in US.
