HTC is leaving no stone unturned to compete with Samsung and Apple. The Taiwanese smartphone maker has introduced a new color variant of the HTC U11 that will reach consumers in the US for now.
Pre-orders for the ‘Solar Red’ device have already started on HTC’s website. “Happy to have the entire family together — Pre-orders are now live for the Solar Red,” an HTC tweet read. The device will retail for $649.
The U11 currently sells in four colors – Sapphire Blue, Amazing Silver, Brilliant Black and Ice White. The new addition hopefully should attract more consumers to the premium smartphone.
In terms of specs, the HTC U11 packs a 5.5-inc QHD Super LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 5. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with the HTC Sense skin on top. The hardware includes Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage.
For the uninitiated, HTC has introduced a feature called Edge Sense with the U11. The feature allows users to launch apps, and perform other actions by simply squeezing the sides of the device. HTC has also introduced what it calls the UltraSpeed focus along with a 12MP rear camera with dual-pixel autofocus, f/1.7 aperture, OIS and electronic stabilisation. The 16MP selfie camera comes with a wide-angle lens.
The HTC U11, part of the U series, was first launched in Taiwan last month.
