Guess Connect launched: Android Wear-powered and will sell in two sizes

The past week saw a couple of smartwatches being released, upping the ante in ongoing wearable market. The latest to join the bandwagon is American clothing brand and retailer Guess.

Guess Connect will run Android Wear 2.0

On Monday, Guess introduced the ‘Connect’ that is powered by Android Wear 2.0 and will work with both iOS and Android.

Powered by a Snapdragon Wear 2100 chip, the wearable comes in two sizes – 41mm and 44mm. The crystals that surround the case come in a variety of silver, gold, and rose gold variations.

The Guess Connect further features “keyboard, Smart Reply, and handwriting recognition”. You can swipe, text and track with touch technology.

Additionally, Guess has brought over a hundred combinations of display face, color, and sub dials, besides a vast collection of trendy interchangeable straps. For fitness freaks, there are apps that can be personalized to achieve daily goals.

We don’t have any insight into the price or release date. Guess however hinted that the watches will be launched sometime late this year.

Smartwatches by TAG Heuer and Montblanc

The new wearable comes just days after TAG Heuer and Mont Blanc, released their own versions of full-featured wearable.

TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 is powered by an Intel Atom processor Z34XX series and comes with connectivity options such as Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and NFC.

It is water resistant up to 50 meters, and its straps, buckles and lugs are also interchangeable. Retailing at $1,650, the wearable computing device sports 4GB memory and a lithium battery that can run an entire day.

Another luxury watch maker that made headlines this past week was Hamburg-based Montblanc. Jumping into the smartwatch fray for the first time, Montblanc launched the Android Wear-powered Summit that came with basic features but premium materials.

It sported a 1.39-inch AMOLED display (400 x 400) and was powered by a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor. There was also a 512MB RAM and 300 mAh battery to power the device. The prices start at $890 and go up to $1,100.
