Canon’s new professional grade projectors and lens offer portability, with great performance

Canon has just released a new interchangeable lens projector – the REALiS WUX6500 Pro AV LCOS. It features above the WUX6010 and the WUX6000. The new REALiS bring in better performance and more dynamic functioning that will probably outdo most other professional projectors in the business.

The most obvious difference will come about at the brightness of the output, at 6500 lumens. It features a resolution of 1920×1200 and accepts HDMI, DVI-I as well as Ethernet inputs, courtesy of its HDBaseT receiver. The applications for a projector like this can be implemented in schools, museums, galleries and other institutions that provide a high-brightness quotient, according to Canon’s press release.

The projector features Canon’s special LCOS technology (Liquid Crystal Silicon) technology with AISYS-enhancement for better image definition and colour accuracy. It can also be fitted with up to five different Canon lenses ranging from Ultra Wide Angle lenses to Ultra Long Focus Zoom lenses. The projector also features a bunch of colour-correction options such as 6-axis Colour adjustment, dynamic gamma, memory colour correction and also motion blur reduction. It also has a unique picture in picture display input wherein two different digital inputs can be projected side-by-side inside a letterboxed image.

According to Let’s Go Digital, the ‘D’ is what separates this projector from the WUX6500. Everything is similar between the two, while the only difference in this one is that it is made for those in the medical training fields. It comes with a special DICOM Simulation Mode that can display monochrome digital X-Rays, CAT scans and MRIs with appropriate grayscale gradation. This mode works with compliance to the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Part 14 standard, which offers the perfect blue base colour temperature pre-sets. Clubbed with the picture by picture feature, students can analyse both DICOM SIM monochrome images as well as sRGB colour images side-by-side.

Canon LV-HD420 and LV-X420 DLP projectors

The LV-HD420 and LV-X420 projectors provide FHD resolutions and XGA resolutions respectively. They both have high-contrast ratios at 8000:1 and 4200 lumens of brightness. They both weigh at just about 7 lb. Both of these systems feature the colour-rich BrilliantColor system with a multitude of image quality adjustments and can also display 3D content via a DLP-Link System. An added bonus is the powerful 10W speaker included, which is perfect for good quality sound, and can be considered as an added value to the entire package as a whole. Both of these projectors feature dual HDMI ports with MHL support as well. And in order to remove any colour discrepancies, the lenses are filter-free as well.

Wide Zoom Lens LX-IL08WZ

It is compatible with the already available LX-MU800Z Laser and LX-MU700 DLP Projectors and come with a throw ratio of 1.07 – 1.6:1 and 0-50 percent vertical and ±10 percent horizontal lens shift. In short, this lens can project clear frames at great resolutions, without breaking a sweat. It will be a part of the line-up, which will be used to support numerous installations for big spaces such as auditoriums, boardrooms, classrooms and even museums. Because of its compact size, it won’t have a problem being fitted in any enclosure that could have some space restrictions.
