Apple March event: New iPad Pro, iPhone SE 128GB coming?

The smallest iPhone will probably get a refresh this March at Apple’s latest event, with rumours circulating that the company may introduce a 128GB variant of the iPhone SE this year.

Apple might launch 128GB iPhone SE update in March

According to reports, Apple had cleared out the inventory of U.S. retailer Target, where many of the outlets were supposed to return the phones back to Apple. All variants and colour options were then sent back, along with the ones that were also Sprint-bound. These were the 16GB and 64GB models respectively. All this comes in just in time before the March event, which could hint at something big coming for the SE, probably in terms of a storage upgrade.

The event which will be conducted by Apple this month, will be announcing a few new iPad Pro devices. According to a report by Softpedia, it was earlier mentioned in another report that the iPhone SE will receive a storage upgrade this year and it seems to be taking fruition. Apart from the new iPad Pros and the iPhone SE, the company is also rumoured to be unveiling special red colour editions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The refreshed model of the SE should hopefully come in the 32GB and 128GB storage options apart from the 16GB and 64GB variants that are already on offer.

But noted analysts of the company remain calm since they believe that Apple is focusing on releasing the iPhone 8 this year – their 10th anniversary iPhone. Even if there won’t be a major refresh for the SE, a storage upgrade would greatly benefit the phone, since users can then opt for better capacities and enjoy a nice, small phone with the power of a pro.

The iPhone SE was a one-off attempt by Apple to bring out a phone that does not compromise on performance, but at the same time, does not have to be overly big. It took the form of the 5s but had the brains and the guts of the 6s. Everything from camera, battery, performance and compactness felt great. It was the perfect small smartphone for users, but it lost out to the more logical 6s and the various other iterations. It would make sense for Apple to discontinue the model, but if it just so happens to be true that they are planning on bringing an upgrade for the SE, then we are expecting some big changes for the little guy.
