BitTorrent Live app comes to Android

BitTorrent Live has made its way to the Android platform. The P2P (peer-to-peer) live video streaming system, which is a modified version of BitTorrent, can be downloaded from the Google Play store.

First launched in May 2016, BitTorrent Live started with Apple TV, iOS, and Mac. It was long rumored to introduce the Android version.

The P2P technology allows for large audiences to stream live events such as concerts, sports matches and breaking news with sub 10-second latency and without the need for an expensive CDN or pre-provisioning.

When it launched, BitTorrent Live offered both live and linear programming across a range of topics. A free tier of programming as well was made available, with channels that included Fightbox, Heroes TV, NewsMax, One World Sports, and TWiT.

You can head over to the Google Play Store to download the app and access your favourite content.
