Smart prediction app SwiftKey has introduced a new feature that allows for GIF search, besides support for seven new languages. Though the beta version of the Android app already has some of them integrated, it is yet to be made official for all to use.
The GIF search will allow users to easily find and add GIF to conversations. Beta testers for now will get to experience the enhancements for the Swiftkey Android app. New users can sign up on the Google Play Store.
To search for new GIFs, users can enter the page for emojis and find a separate tab for GIF that will provide a scrollable list.
As for the new languages, the app will now support Amharic, Coptic, Dagbani, Kabyle, Neapolitan, Khoekhoe and Panglish. The latest update also brings an improved Rusyn layout.
SwiftKey, which was acquired by Microsoft last year, has been a popular keyboard alternative for iOS and Android users since its release in 2008. Microsoft recently also killed off the Windows Phone keyboard from App Store and encouraged iPhone users to download the SwiftKey Keyboard.
“The ‘Word Flow’ experiment is now complete! We encourage you to download the SwiftKey Keyboard from the App Store. The SwiftKey product team is frequently building and evaluating new features for SwiftKey and shipping updates,” the company said on Microsoft Garage page.
The SwiftKey keyboard however faces swift competition from the likes of Google’s Gboard and various others like Swype, Fleksy and TouchPal.
