Huawei’s Honor has been on a launch spree lately with a number of smartphones. That should not imply it has forgotten the wearable market. On Tuesday it launched an affordable fitness tracker accompanied by a set of strap designs.
The Honor Band A2 was launched alongside the Honor 6A and Honor Play Pad 2 tablets at an event in China. Pre-orders for the fitness tracker is currently on at CNY 199 ($29). It will start selling from June 9.
On Honor Band A2, you have a 0.96-inch OLED touchscreen, providing ample space for accessing information pertaining the time or notifications. It does come with an IP67 rating, meaning it can withstand being submerged to 1 metre of water.
Fitness addicts can track their exercises, heart beat and even sleep. Further, it can be connected to an Android or iOS device through Bluetooth, for quick notifications. To the most important feature, users enjoy up to 9 days of use with 90 minutes of charge.
The Honor Band A2 is a simple upgrade from last year’s Band A1, and for the price it will retail, it is definitely a cheap bargain.
Huawei Honor 6A introduced
Besides the fitness tracker, a key release was that of Huawei Honor 6A, a 5-inch HD display phone with a metal unibody design and powerful internals.
The device is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with Adreno 505 GPU paired with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of expandable storage. It is also equipped with a 3020 mAh battery, 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP selfie camera.
