The largest mobile manufacturer in the world, ZTE has just launched a brand-new tablet for the Canadian market, dubbed the ZTE Grand X View 2 and is set to deliver a cheap device with almost average performance.
There is a possibility for the tablet to feature a Snapdragon 212 instead of the 210, since the 210’s clock-speed does not go beyond 1.1GHz officially. However, the GPU part will still remain from the Adreno 300-series family, sporting the Adreno 304 graphics unit. On the optics side, the tablet will feature a 5MP camera on the back of the device, with the front-facing camera featuring a 2MP sensor. Suffice to say, these cameras will not be pushing for high quality photography.
The tablet will get Android Nougat out of the box and the battery will be a generous 4,620mAh unit. It is a known fact that when compared to its predecessor, the Grand X View 2 is more of a downgrade, rather than being the next in evolution for the Grand series by ZTE, cutting down the cost further as well. The original Grand X View had a 1080p resolution of the same 8-inch screen as well as a more powerful and capable Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. That tablet also had a 5MP camera on the front and another one on the back. There has not been any explanation as to why ZTE went so far as to under-power the new tablet just yet.
The device will be available in Canada only, for now, via the network carrier Bell for CAD 179.99 ($140). As of now, there has not been any news regarding the official launch of the device for global markets yet.
