It may be likely that Samsung will launch the much-awaited Note 8 at the IFA 2017. A top executive of IFA, though has not confirmed the launch, has given strong indications of Samsung bringing the device to Berlin.
IFA executive director Jens Heithecker said Samsung will have a big advantage of media and journalists from all around the world. “Samsung will have the biggest presentation as well this year as far as we know, and we are very happy to have Korean industries such as Samsung, LG and other companies in our show,” he said.
Jens was speaking at a press conference in Lisbon on Saturday.
Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed the launch of Note 8 at the IFA. Speculations are also rife that the South Korean giant will hold a separate event for the device in New York. Last year, the Note 7 was launched at the company’s own event in August. The trend followed for the Galaxy S8, which launched with much fanfare this month.
Note 8 Specs & Highlights
The Note 7 debacle last year had caused much embarrassment to Samsung. This year it is geared up to revive the Note series with the phablet rumored to feature a 6.5-inch display with QHD resolution and SuperAMOLED panel and Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB or 8GB RAM.
KGI analyst Ming-Ci Kuo has hinted Samsung will have a dual-camera setup with a 12MP wide-angle lens and 13MP telephoto lens on board. In addition to the aforementioned, there will iris scanning and facial recognition, digital assistant Bixby and a new S-Pen.
Leaked images of the Note 8 suggest that the device will very much resemble the just launched Galaxy S8. Like the Galaxy S8 the phablet is expected to feature Infinity display and come with pressure-sensitive on-screen home button.
