Vernee is a relatively new Chinese smartphone maker that is rapidly gaining ground. If you recall the last device, the Apollo Mars, that came equipped with top-notch hardware with an affordable price point.
The company is now bringing a new Android phone called Apollo 2. Though a teaser of the phone surfaced back in January, we now have more insight on the specs, thanks to popular tipster Roland Quandt.
Dubbed as the “World’s First Helio X30 Smartphone”, the device is expected to launch in two different RAM and storage options.
The flagship phone will be powered by Mediatek’s Helio X30, which was unveiled in September, 2016. It is based on 10nm TSMC process and offers 53% improved power saving and 43% better performance than the Helio X20.
As for the RAM and storage, you will have a 6GB RAM with 64GB storage for the base model. For those who are willing to spend, you have a 8GB RAM and 128GB storage as well.
A GSMArena report also said the device will sport a QHD display and will be announced during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. However, there is nothing official on the same as yet.
Apollo 2 is the successor of Apollo and Apollo Lite, the former was launched last March with a price tag of $399. The Vernee Apollo packed a Mediatek Helios X20 processor with a 6GB RAM, besides 128GB for storage.
The 5.5-inch display phone also packed a 21MP camera based on the Sony IMX 230 sensor. The flagship phone came with a USB Type C port for charging and data transfer.
