Top 4 software updates expected at Apple’s WWDC 2017

Microsoft’s Build conference is over and so is Google’s I/O. Now, it’s Apple’s turn and being one of the most anticipated developer conferences, there are quite a few expectations that it has to meet. Since its inception, Apple has now amassed a healthy eco-system of software that cater to different products offered by them buyers old and new, will be eager to know what new changes Apple will bring to their life in terms of convenience, innovation and performance. Before it begins on June 5, here are the top highlights that the WWDC is expected to feature.

iOS 11
The biggest announcement for attendees to look forward to is the iOS coverage and what Apple will be doing to build upon their mobile platform. All that the internet knows is that a large chunk of the program will be dedicated to introducing iOS 11. While speculations about the upcoming update are quite expansive, it seems like Apple will be pushing for group FaceTime calls and updates to Siri as well as the Music app. But fans will be hoping for Apple to make better improvements on iPad and finally take advantage of that screen real estate. Also, a dark mode, as well as fixing the notifications are on the wish list.

macOS 10.13
It has been rumored that FaceTime for desktop will now see an introduction to macOS. While Siri was introduced for desktop the last time around, this time, there will be a fair amount of development and updates dedicated to Siri and its functions on the desktop platform. What users will want most, however, is app integration onto the desktop – which seems highly unlikely for Apple to do.

tvOS 11
Apple’s tvOS has not received much love from either the consumers or Apple, since it has been fairly neglected in usage and features. Hopefully, Apple will be able to introduce a more robust API with 4K content this time around that puts the focus on interaction and gaming, such as better Siri integration in order to keep up with the competition, which is currently being led by Android.

watchOS
Already quite a developed platform in itself, watchOS saw its success right from the first iteration of the Apple watch. The competition merely needed to catch up to watchOS’s features and now, Apple is expected to provide a more health-oriented focus to the smartwatch platform. Every other feature to be expected, however, is hardware dependent. But battery life and standalone functions are currently where the platform needs improving.
