The top 10 exciting games to look forward in 2017

2016 was a rollercoaster in gaming. With VR now in the mix, people are getting into the game without even leaving their rooms. It’s even brought an entire new meaning to simulation.
But then there are the AAA titles that are the highlights. The ones that people wait years for (Ahem Half Life 3) and then there are the no-shows. Here’s a list of 10 of the most anticipated games to watch out for in 2017.

1) Halo Wars 2

It was first announced in 2015. And it’s got real-time strategy on its side to widen the scope for players looking for something different than what they’re used to playing with Halo. It was originally made for a release sometime in Autumn in 2016, but it’s going to be out on February 21, 2017. It’ll be good to see what’s new and how this game will change the series for future releases.

2) For Honor

Out on Valentine’s Day, For Honor promises tactical gameplay and has its eyes set on being one of the biggest multiplayer games out there now. It’s got a big budget backing it, thanks to Ubisoft, but we’re not sure of the multiplayer support. With visuals that are stunning and a quite unique Samurai versus Vikings versus Knights mashup, it’s turning out to be quite a title to look forward to.

3) Mass Effect: Andromeda

Mass Effect was perfect from the beginning. And it became better with age. Andromeda is no exception. This time around, we won’t be on board with Captain Shepard anymore. Instead, it’ll be taking place 600 years into the future. No gamer isn’t excited for this release and is arguably the most hyped game of the year.

4) Outlast 2

Outlast was one of the best horror games to come out in recent years and the second iteration, although delayed, promises to up the ante this time around. It puts players in the shoes of someone who’s completely helpless and without any protection, but this time, instead facing a mad doctor, they face a mob.

5) Sea of Thieves

Rare, now owned by Microsoft took their time to bring out their next big game. And hopefully, they’ve used that time to make a really really good game, because it’s been talked about for a very long time. Essentially, it involved teamwork between players where each role is taken up by an actual player going through the oceans. This is a new type of MMO that has the most promising campaigns on offer and we’re excited!

6) Worlds Adrift

From the makers of Surgeon Simulator, this physics-based MMO makes players explore a number of floating islands and the game allows players to craft their own ships and manoeuvre around worlds. That’s all that this game has revealed of itself, for now, but it’s shaping up to be quite a looker for 2017.

7) Horizon Zero Dawn

This PlayStation only game looks gorgeous. It’s set 1,000 years in the future and features mechanical dinosaurs and other creatures. The player takes the role of Aloy who needs to hunt these creatures and use their parts for leverage and build up her arsenal. It’s an interesting concept and the gameplay looks promising, so it’ll be pretty neat to know what PlayStation is going to do with this franchise.

8) Tekken 7

We saw the trailer last year and how dramatic it was between Heihachi Mishima and his wife. This time around, Tekken is set to conclude the Mishima clan’s storyline and by the looks of things, it’s going to be epic. This is one title that fans of the series would not want to miss for the world.

9) The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

It’s still on the release bench for now, and hasn’t yet been given an official date. It’ll probably be available for the upcoming Nintendo Switch. The visuals are beautiful, but the game has been given a lot of love by its developers and they’re putting up the final touches on this most awaited title.

10) Red Dead Redemption 2

The most exciting game to be out since the first part released. This console exclusive is promising everything better than the first game had to offer and as we are all familiar with Rockstar, they don’t mess around with their titles. They’ve kept everything under wraps for now, and the expected release date is set to be only in Autumn of 2017. But it’ll be worth the wait.
