TAG Heuer Connected 2 smartwatch launching on March 15?

TAG Heuer is expected to release a new smartwatch this month. In a tweet on Friday, the company revealed the launch date as March 14.

The tweet also included a teaser image with the caption ‘Connected to Eternity’. Reports state the upcoming wearable will be named TAG Heuer Connected 2 or TAG Heuer Connected Modular.

There were rumors of TAG Heuer bringing an upgrade to the Connected smartwatch that launched in 2015. The first model packed a 1.5-inch fully circular transflective LTPS LCD display, 1.6GHz dual core processor from Intel, 1GB RAM and 4GB internal memory. It was powered by a 410 mAh battery.

The Swiss watchmaker was rumored to introduce the second generation by the end of 2016. However, it had to wait till the first quarter of 2017.

When Connected 2 releases, it could run on next-generation Google OS, the Android Wear 2.0. It could also offer customisable straps, GPS, improved display and longer battery life.

The Connected retailed for $1,500, so you can be sure the second generation wearable will be clearly over that. Stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below. We’ll keep you updated on the latest.
