Six new ZenFone 4 variants to be released by Asus in July

Asus has been on a role lately, since the launch of their new ZenFone AR and the ZenFone 3 Zoom. As a follow up to the company’s popular ZenFone 3 series, the new ZenFone 4 line is touted to come with up to six new models that will be added to the ZenFone family.

According to a report by Phone Arena, the new ZenFone 4 series of smartphones by Asus will be arriving as soon as July, with an announcement happening just around the corner of this month. The new information regarding the variants of the new series of phones was leaked from a list highlighting four new devices that would support Google Play that had shown no less than six ZenFone 4 models, namely the Asus ZenFone 4 (model number ZE554KL), Asus ZenFone 4 Max (model number ZC554KL), Asus ZenFone 4 Pro (model number Z01GD), Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie (model number Z01M), and Asus ZenFone 4V (model number V520KL/A006).

Google had cleared the various models that have been listed to support the Google Play Services module that is found on all Android handsets. Upon closer inspection of the new model names, it can be seen that each of the new models will serve as successors to last year’s ZenFone 3 series models. For example, the ZenFone 4 is the corresponding successor to the ZenFone 3, the ZenFone 4 Max can be seen as the successor to the ZenFone 3 Max, which was known for its battery capacity.

Just like last year, the company is aiming to provide different unique offerings through its various ZenFone models, with each of them having unique selling points in either their battery, camera performance, or even all-round performance. Asus, although not having the best offerings in its class, nevertheless did delivery on the quality and the software experience of previous iterations and this time around, it seems so will be the case.

On the specifications front of the phones, the ZenFone 4 Selfie was seen on GFX Bench recently, and according to the listing, rocked a Snapdragon 625 chipset that consists of eight Cortex-A53 cores, clocked at 2.0GHz. The SoC is known for stellar performance on mid-range chips that can rival the likes of the Snapdragon 820 as well. The ZenFone 4 Selfie is the only one that has its specifications confirmed among the other models releasing this year, featuring a 16MP camera on the back with 4K recording and a 12MP camera on the front with 4K recording as well.

Hopefully, the company should also be releasing a “Deluxe” version of their ZenFone line that will feature larger than life specs and could rival some of the other flagships on the market currently. For now, the ZenFone lineage remains unchanged.
