While we know Samsung is to produce a new device dubbed Galaxy J7 (2017), it now appears the phone will have a sibling.
A new trademark filed in the US has hinted at Samsung planning on the Galaxy J7 Sky Pro. The trademark filed with United States Patent and Trademark office reveals the filing date as January 24, while the serial number is seen as “87312364”.
Listed as “Galaxy J7 Sky Pro”, the device will be a more beefier version of the upcoming Galaxy J7 that Samsung will be launching in the US. The mid-range device could be outed any time soon. There are also possibilities the same will be introduced in other countries, may be in a different name.
While on one side Samsung has all its attention on the much-awaited S8, it is also prepping up devices to cater to the budget and mid-range markets. In Asia, it has tasted success with the C series and even the J line up.

Meanwhile, rumors on the specs of Galaxy J7 (2017) has been flying for a while. The handset is expected to be sold by network carriers that include AT&T, US Carrier and Verizon. Thanks to benchmark listings, some of the specs has been made available for the public.
Going by the leaks, the Galaxy J7 (2017) is expected to pack a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 625 processor and 3GB RAM. It is also touted to come equipped with a decent 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. It will run on Android 7.0 Nougat and will be backed by a 3,000 mAh battery.
We are not sure if the impending device will make an appearance at the Mobile World Congress. The pricing or availability of the phone is not known. The next-gen phone, which received the FCC and Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) certification, succeeds the Galaxy J7 (2016).
