Samsung releases two smartphones for Indian market – J5 Prime & J7 Prime

Samsung launched two new smartphones for the Indian market today.

The J series smartphones – J5 Prime and J7 Prime comes with attractive features and specifications, but with a price tag of Rs 14,790 and Rs 18,790, respectively.

Both the smartphones will have S Power Planning and S Secure integrated. While S Power Planning is a battery saving feature, the latter is for those needing separate secure folder for multimedia and ability to lock and unlock apps.

The J7 sports an ultra slim design with metal finish and is powered by 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor paired with 3GB RAM. And the 16GB of internal memory is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

For photo addicts, the phone has an F1.9 lens for bright images with 13MP rear camera and 8MP selfie camera. There is fingerprint sensor to unlock the device safely, besides a 3,300mAh battery for a full day of power. The dualSIM phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and supports 4G LTE connectivity.

The Galaxy J7 comes in two color variants – Gold and Black.

If J7 Prime’s price of Rs 18,790 is a concern, Samsung has a lower end model in the J5 Prime.

Available at a price of Rs 12,990, the J5 Prime has in no terms minimized the design, keeping a sleek metal frame with a diamond cut finish.

The device comes with a 5-inch sAMOLED display and is backed by a quad-core Exynos processor with 2GB RAM. On the camera front, it has 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. J5 Prime runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is backed by a 3,100mAh battery.

In terms of connectivity options, the J series smartphone offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1 and Micro-USB (with OTG).

Two other highlights that need a mention is the Ultra Data Saving Mode that can save 4G data usage up to 50% and the S Bike mode with pre-recorded message and Motion Lock feature.

The Galaxy J7 will be available from Monday, while for Galaxy J5, you need to wait till end of September. And if you have extra cash to burn for a premium model, then go for Samsung’s recent A9 Pro that is priced at Rs 32,490 and comes with a massive battery of 5,000mAh and a range of other stunning features.
