The high end version of the Galaxy J5 (2017), dubbed as Galaxy J5 Pro (2017), was unveiled by the South Korean smartphone maker Samsung on Wednesday.
Being an upgraded version, users can expect a bigger RAM and storage, besides the latest operating system. In terms of specifics, you have 5.2-inch HD display with 1280x720p resolution. Under the hood, you have a Samsung Exynos 7870 octa-core processor, paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage (expandable up to 256GB). If you recall, the standard Galaxy J5 launched with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
Additionally, on the latest you have a 13MP camera on the rear and 13MP camera on the front, both supporting LED flash. There is a 3,000 mAh battery that powers the device.
Other key details include a fingerprint scanner that is embedded in the home button and the operating system which is Android Nougat 7.0. As for connectivity, the device supports Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G.
The J5 Pro (2017) will immediately go on sale in Thailand. It carries a price tag of THB 9,900 ($290). There is no word on when the device will be launched in Asia and other key markets.
The Galaxy J5 Pro (2017) succeeds the J5 Pro (2016) that came with 5.2-inch HD display, Android 6.0 Marshmallow and 3,100 mAh battery.
